크롬 업데이트 Chrome Update Chrome browser downgrade and turn off automatic updates

Today, I would like to share how to downgrade Chrome and how to turn off automatic updates to those who want to solve the problem through downgrade when there is a problem with their Chrome chorm browser. First of all, there are two ways to downgrade Chrome. The first is to touch the registry, and the second is to delete Chrome, find the lower version of Chrome, install it, and then change the automatic update settings so that it cannot be updated. In the case of the first method, it is a task to touch the registry, so it would be a bit burdensome for ordinary people, so I would like to introduce the second method.

When installing the downloaded old version of Chrome, there are no other detailed settings. Just proceed with the installation in the usual way.

Turn off automatic updates for chrome
1) Settings in System Configuration > Services
If there is a google item in the service tab, change the two service items to Disabled > Reboot if you want to reboot after applying the change
In my case, I skipped it because there was no such item.

2) Task Scheduler Settings
In Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Task Scheduler, go to Settings or search for “Task Scheduler” through Win Key + F Find Windows

Find the 2 that start with GoogleUpdate and set them to “Disabled”

If “Disable” of an item does not work well, click the item individually to disable all the parts that are held as triggers.

3) Change the file name of the Google Update executable file

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Update and rename the “GoogleUpdate.exe” file to “GoogleUpdate1.exe”.
