Gyeonggi Province is accepting applications for the ‘2023 Universal Support Project for Menstrual Products for Women and Youth’, which provides support for the purchase of sanitary products to female adolescents. Those eligible to apply are female adolescents aged 11 to 18 (born between 2005 and 2012) from a total of 22 cities and counties, including Ansan, Pyeongtaek, and Gimpo. This year, three new cities and counties, Hwaseong, Gwangmyeong, and Uiwang, participated in the project. Please note that Seongnam City, which participated last year, was excluded from this year’s participating regions.
The limit of the support amount is 13,000 won per person per month (maximum 156,000 won per year), and it is paid in local currency (semi-annually). The paid local currency can be used until December 31 of this year. The subsidy can only be used to purchase sanitary products and can be used at convenience stores in your city/county (CU, GS25, 7-Eleven, E-Mart 24).
Applications are conducted online twice, in the first and second half of the year. You can apply via the internet or mobile phone within the given period by going through the mobile phone identity verification process at the application site below.
Female teenagers who are unable or have difficulty verifying their mobile phone identity and installing the Gyeonggi local currency app can apply on-site at the administrative welfare center in their town, township or district until Friday, November 17. Adolescents themselves, their guardians, or primary caregivers can also apply for subsidies.
However, applicants for the sanitary product support project for women and adolescents of basic livelihood recipients, legally next-lowest class, and single-parent family households implemented by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family cannot receive duplicate support.
Gyeonggi Province will continue to strive to promote human rights and improve the welfare of female adolescents so that they can grow up healthily.
