The second project to support monthly rent for young people has been announced to reduce the burden of housing costs for young people. This is a project that provides 200,000 won per month for one year’s rent to young applicants who meet the eligibility conditions. We will summarize the eligibility conditions, application method, and required documents.

The youth monthly rent support project, which received applications from August 2022 to August 2023, is currently providing benefits to 97,000 people.

This second round of youth monthly rent support project will accept applications from young people who meet the eligibility requirements and provide monthly rent support for one year from February 26th (until February 25th, 2025).

Now, let’s summarize the eligibility conditions to receive this second special monthly rent support for young people.

3. Meeting the income and property requirements of the original household, including the young person’s household and parents, etc.

In the case of a young person’s household, it refers to the young person’s family, including the young person’s spouse and direct descendants, residing at the same address (see Article 779 of the Civil Act). The original household refers to the young person’s immediate blood relatives within the first degree (parents, children).

However, for young people who are over 30 years old or who live differently from their parents due to marriage, only the income and assets of the young person’s own household are verified.

An example of standard income calculation according to household composition is as follows.

There are residency requirements (deposit of 50 million won or less and monthly rent of 700,000 won or less for a house), so it may be difficult for young people living in rented areas in Seoul and the metropolitan area to benefit.

However, since nearly 100,000 young people are benefiting from the first application, we encourage you to apply if you missed the first application or meet the new requirements.
